Besides the options listed above, you can also find a health care provider by registering with Health Care Connect or by phone at 1-888-579-6707 Monday to Friday, between 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Health Care Connect lets you sign up online anytime, register yourself and your family, and connects you with a Care Connector—a registered nurse who helps people without a family doctor find one. Your personal health information is kept secure, and you’ll also get access to a directory of local health care services with an easy-to-use map.
After registering, you’ll be assigned a Care Connector who will be your main contact and support. Their contact details will be sent to you by mail.
You’ll need a valid OHIP card to join. While Health Care Connect helps with the search, it doesn’t guarantee a provider, so you’re encouraged to keep looking on your own. If a family doctor or nurse practitioner becomes available, you’ll be referred and can book your own appointment.
